The
Cortijo lies facing east into the sunrise on the slopes of the southern
sierras in the province of Seville, the heart of
Andalucia: it has gradually developed from a rundown old farmhouse in 1991
into a beautiful complex consisting of:
The main house, gardens and swimming pool
Two self contained studios
The Coach House

Aerial view of the Cortijo
The Cortijo (this
means "farmhouse" in Spanish) is set in 30 acres of its own land
consisting partly of olive trees and partly of uncultivated woodland on the
steeply sloping hillside. It is just one kilometre from and overlooks the village of Algamitas with a population of
just over 1000 people - several shops, many bars, a church, the village
square and two banks: an agricultural community with the emphasis on olives
as well as mixed cereals and sunflowers. The Cortijo has its own access road,
mains electricity, telephone, piped water supply and is entirely private.
